The hotel in the tri-border region: great excursion opportunities

What do you feel like doing? It’s your choice: Enjoy the beauty of natureGo hiking or have a picnic with a great view? Do you like to ski? Would you like to immerse yourself in the history of the Black Forest or visit one of the museums?

Our unique hotel is centrally located in the tri-border region, and therefore also ideal for a little excursion to Alsace, or to nearby Switzerland.

And if you prefer your day to be action-packed - visit the Europapark - it is very close-by!

Experience the Black Forest

Around lake Titisee you will discover truly idyllic nature - only 35 minutes away from the Hotel am Stadtgarten. The Black Forest is reflected in the lake’s surface. And you can “sail” right into this picture-book-perfect motif, either with the local excursion ship, or by renting a paddle boat.

A little further down the scenic road B500 you will reach the largest lake of the Black Forest region, the Schluchsee. The countryside around the lake is stunningly beautiful. You will feel absolutely carefree here.

At the renown outdoor museum Vogtsbauernhof in Gutach, you can stroll through centuries-old Black Forest farms and experience how the people in this region used to live and work.

Culture & City Tips

You can reach various thermal baths & fun pools from our hotel just as easily as the neighboring countries France and Switzerland. We especially recommend a visit to Basel, with its beautiful old town and a large variety of museums.

A true jewel of the Alsace is Colmar. Highlights there are the idyllic half-timbered houses, little Venice, as well as the Isenheim altar at the museum Unterlinden.
Strasbourg, with the impressive Strasbourg Cathedral, the picturesque city squares and half-timbered houses, as well as the contemporary architecture of the European Parliament is another highlight of the region.

Each of these cities is merely 50-60 minutes from your favorite hotel in Baden-Württemberg, the Hotel am Stadtgarten.

From the Hotel am Stadtgarten to the Europapark

our visit to Freiburg can also get truly action-packed. Visit Germany’s largest amusement park and experience a rush of adrenaline on the roller coaster, a variety of shows and much more … the Europapark offers so much action & so many great attractions - you have to reserve an entire day for this visit!

The Steinwasenpark in Oberried also offers fun for children and adults alike. A wild water ride, a toboggan run, and encounters with animals are among the many attractions here.

But that is not all the region has to offer. At the Baumkronenweg in Waldkirch you can dash through the woods in the longest high-speed tube slide in Europe.
